We had a fantastic time at Destin on the Water. The location was great as the home is situated in a relaxing community with easy access to the beach and great canal views. The house is beautiful with plenty of space for large groups and a wonderful patio setup. There are tons of activities on premise for kids of all ages and the house was well appointed with everything we could have asked for cooking and entertaining. Jim was an outstanding host. He is very hospitable, clear, and communicative. We look forward to coming again! - Jim Smith Family

Destin on the Water is a spectacular, spacious, luxurious home with all of the amenities that you could hope for to enjoy a relaxing time in Florida with your family. From the beautiful, spacious kitchen to the appointed bedrooms and beautiful pool, time spent at this home is certain to bring you a perfect experience in Destin. The owners will make you feel important and taken care of during your entire stay! The home has plenty of space to spread out if one desires downtime, or is ideal when gathering the family for together time. The location on the water is perfect (includes a refreshing evening breeze :)) and the views from the patio and upper decks are spectacular. Having access to a cart to drive to the beach is incredibly helpful when taking parents along. We will be back!   -  Russ & Nada Farmer

James was a very thoughtful host. Very kind and easy to get in touch with. He answered questions and gave suggestions. Fabulous place to spend time with family yet be isolated during the pandemic. House has every amenity and plenty to do. Great kitchen for those who love to cook. In fact, can have several cooks at the same time with state of the art appliances. Loved this house and it has very special memories for our family get together during Covid. Quick walk (or golf cart ride) to the beach of fine white sand. Thank you for the special memories! Definitely a 5 star home!  We went on a family vacation and this was the perfect house for us, it is very spacious with plenty of room for up to 16 people and a game room for kids to enjoy. This house is minutes away from the board walk and the water park, we will definitely stay again if we visit Destine on a family trip.   -  Jessica Myrick

The house was comfortable. I personally enjoyed watching the various boats instead of being on the beach front. The beach access is a short pleasant walk. Some of the local neighbors were very nice and a pleasure to talk with.   -  Randy Gable

The home is beautiful and has everything you need! Jim was excellent to work with and was timely in all responses. Our family was very comfortable and had plenty of space. The pool area is wonderful and has great shade for those that don't want to swim or be in the sun. We also loved the boat slip and quick access to the main channel and Crab Island. I have booked and stayed through VRBO many times before and this vacation definitely ranks at the top. You won't be disappointed renting this property.   -   Sarah Waugh Family

This house was perfect for our family vacation! Plenty of rooms, kitchen is big for family to gather round!! Jim was great and answered all our questions and we had no problems during our stay. Having the house right on the canal where I docked my 34 ft boat was perfect for convenient boat rides to crab island and fishing!! Only small request I have it would be nice to have a hammock out back to take naps in lo.   -   James Weathersby Family

This place is absolutely amazing! If you have a large family and like to take your boat to the ocean this is the place to stay! It is a short boat ride from Crab Island and some of the best eating places on the water. It has an amazing pool also. The beach is a short walk away, but a golf cart is provided with the house. But most of all was the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Welch. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of before, during and after the trip. Best customer service ever. We had a family group that included 13 adults, 3 children and 2 small dogs. James was very accommodating to our early arrival. We had some miscommunications on arrival and departure times but it all worked out. Thank you James The home is luxurious and tastefully furnished with everything needed for daily living. We were very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone yet felt we had our own private sanctuaries aka bedrooms. This was our first vacation home rental. I'm sure I could have cleaned the home better but hoped the cleaning fee would cover that. I loved the home! Access to the attractions of the Emerald coast is easy and convenient. The beach is a short walk or golf cart ride away and shopping for groceries is easy and convenient. For those who seek an enjoyable evening without having to drive and find parking the location of the home on a canal allows for pickup and drop-off from the backyard dock via the Destin water taxi service. The backyard pool and seating area provide a pleasant place to gather in a partially shaded area. Access to major highways and the local airport is very convenient. In summary this is a prime property in a prime location. All the elements are present to make ones vacation time an enjoyable and relaxing experience We would most definitely recommend this home to future vacationers! You don't even want to leave the house!!!   All we can say is WOW!!! 4 generations in the house with two little ones. Something for everyone. Sports,movies, games, books, bedrooms, bathrooms. Everything you could possibly want is right here! This was an amazing property. We had 2 adults and 5 kids with us. There was plenty of room to spread out. The house is well maintained and Jim was really great to work with. The house has every comfort you could think of. Great location too! It is close to the beach and has a boat slip that we used to go out fishing and to Crab Island. Everyone enjoyed themselves!

Fantastic...just Fantastic!  This house has EVERYTHING you could ask for in a vacation home. The owner was great to work with and supplied us with lots of tips and places to go...but we didn'the even want to leave the house. Very beautiful setting, even nicer than the photos, and we had a great time on the water with the kayaks! We may never get back toDestin, but if we do we already know exactly where we are staying.This is, by far, the best place we have ever stayed in.
